A Special Appeal to All of My Fine Friends:
By Marc Chamot

A few months ago, I wrote about wanting to be a traveling writer in Mexico. On my reaching fifty-years, I wanted new changes in my life. To my readers who followed me are probably wondering, “I thought that Marc said he was going to Mexico?” Well, the problem is I never fully explained myself from that posting on, and as to why I ended up back in San Francisco instead.

I did go to San Diego. I went as far as the Tijuana border, and I did a little investigation of my own, and I discovered that if I went on through into Mexico it would have been a fatal mistake for me to take. I talked to a few people and they told me that the U.S. border patrols were advising Americans not to go into Mexico, especially around the border towns. It was too risky and dangerous, because Mexico has serious problems with the drug cartels and bandits. These Northern Mexican towns have become virtually a no man’s land, with virtually no law enforcements available to protect you.

So I decided to go back to San Francisco, where I knew some friends. Unfortunately, being unemployed and scrapping for every thing I can get to get by, it’s really tough, I had picked a bad time to be in California. My part-time job that I did have to help me along, sadly to say it’s been over this past Saturday. The print shop owner and a good friend of many years is closing his doors soon. Things have gotten so tough around here, it becoming virtually difficult for businesses to stay open.

During my time here, I have discovered that my unique assets that I own are my writing talents and my blogs. Thanks in part to my many friends at Entrecard.com; Google has also been tremendous to me. I get the best service around with Google. I am what you want to call a “Googler” loyalist. In my opinion both, Entrecard and Google for the past two months have given me the explosion in blog traffic that I never had before. Of course, I have made far more friends and lost a few. I have also gotten more positive comments and people have given me tremendous reviews, which I have posted on my blogs.

I also want to make a special appeal to all of my feed readers out there. I only know of my syndications, but I don’t know who the rest of you are, but you’re out there. Some say that feed readership is much larger than the people who actually access ones blog. Most of my syndications are through feeds, people read them, but never actually see your blog contents. I came up with a great Paypal solution to solve that dilemma, as you will see.

That is why I am linking my Paypal on all my blog posts through none HTML codes, which feeds cannot read.

Among the many fine blogs out there, those of my fellow Entrecarders are among the finest around. I believe that mine is also pretty unique. Not only I post articles on current events and political things, I also do a lot of research to base my thesis and back up my opinions. I know that sometimes some of my stories have irked some people, I have seen some followers pull out because they don’t agree with what I write or say. But heck, that’s what blogs are all about and my traffic keeps on rising, that’s the important thing, isn’t it? I absolutely want to keep on doing what I’ve been doing for these past few months.

Through my blog surfing’s I possibly discovered something that I could do, and make a little money at the same time. I have run across many blogs that write about their travels abroad. They post their destinations, places visited, their experiences and photos. It’s all fine and well, but with our economic situation, I don’t think that many of us have the money and capacity to travel abroad these days.

What I haven’t come across are blogs that write about traveling across America, blogs that write about the uniqueness of rural America, places to visit, places to eat, about its peoples and photo layouts. I think that Americans in general will be more apt to drive within 500 miles from their homes to visit the places I write about, rather than to be spending money on a lavish vacation abroad. It’s a kind of Americans helping other Americans in times of need.

That’s what I want to do. I want to take on, with possibly readers supported, some contracted syndications, and advertisers sponsored trip across all 48 states that are located in our mainland. It’s a journey that may take up to two years on Greyhound buses. Why on a greyhound bus, you may say? It gives me a whole lot of time to prepare on my projects and write. I can pay my fares from stop to stop in between. It also passes through rural America.

I want to write about our people, in a non political way. I have my political blogs to do that, believe me. I will not let you down either, the Marc Chamot Report will still be around no matter what. I also think that by having closer relations with rural Americans, writing about what they have to offer and put it on the Net, as to what they think, their needs, and what their problems are, and on their economical situations. This may also help my other blogs considerably with new wealth of information for you.

I am looking to start this new blog venture soon. But, it takes money, not a whole lot of money, but it does take some money to get it started. That is why I am going to begin here, by posting a Paypal account on my blogs to get the ball rolling.

What I will do, is explore on what blog services gives me the diversity to put ads on. I love blogger, and Google blogger has been good to me for the past year and a half, since I first began blogging. Maybe some of you could recommend me something just as good.

What I will also do, is design my travel blog very simple. I will be only promoting my paid advertisers that will offer you their best American made farm made products, from jams and jellies, nuts, to arts and crafts and jewelry. I will also promote my paid sponsors, and link up to my syndications, and unless donors and sponsors want to remain anonymous, I shall respect all of their wishes. If some major magazine, newspaper or website wants exclusivity into some of my articles and photos first hand, I will offer that option for an agreed price.

I also feel that getting to know America is a great place to start. Hopefully, and maybe, something unique could occur that benefits all of us.
