Killer of 4 Oakland Cops Should Have Served Life, Only Got 6 Years for a 2002 San Francisco Carjacking that Left a Victim Near Dead:

The drum beats of anti-gunners are sounding very loud and clear in the San Francisco Bay Area over the cold blooded killings of four police officers. This spectacle of anti-gunners cries are coming from none other than the Randolph Hearst’s, San Francisco Chronicle.
And the Hearst’s Chronicle is wondering as to why they are going out of business? For the past two days, they have been under the banner for more stringent gun controls.
For example, Chip Johnson, their Oakland California dead-beat journalist, came out with an article called, Police Deaths provide leverage to toughen Gun Laws: : “If history repeats itself, the fatal shootings of four Oakland police officers on Saturday afternoon will become the next benchmark in the national debate on a federal law to ban assault weapons.”
Chip Johnson goes on to rant about how the city of Oakland should get together with the Feds, and yes, you got it, Senator Dianne Feinstein to ban a slew of semi-automatic weapons to prevent these types of tragedies to ever occur again. Chip Johnson goes on to say that pro-gunners have no excuses this time, their pro-gun rants is becoming old news and should be ignored.
Even though, the Hearst Chronicle’s has been very supportive for the fallen police officers, they have also been pretty sympathetic for the killer. They came out defending the killer in editorial forums, like “Unemployed ex-felons are ticking time bombs.” While the San Francisco Chronicle and I agree that the California parole system is flawed, they totally fail to address the real issue behind this tragedy.
The San Francisco Examiner, who did some court research, discovered that this cop killer, Lovelle Shawn Mixon not only had a rap sheet, but was behind the brutal 2002 beatings and shooting during an attempted carjacking in San Francisco. But the real issue behind this tragedy was addressed by their competitor in, Difficult case resulted in plea deal for Oakland man, where Francisco Cardenas was yanked from his 2001 Chevy truck by Mixon and another partner in crime, pistol whipped, shot and left for dead.
“Mixon faced a maximum penalty of life without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 20 years for the gun charges on the carjacking assault case,” His sentence for the crime at the time demanded life in prison, but the Liberal San Francisco justice system on his case ended up with a plea bargain of six years in prison for that heinous crime!
I have no doubt that these four Oakland police officers would still be alive today, had the San Francisco court systems done their job and incarcerated this very viscous criminal for life.
As I had posted on my other blog, I squarely put the blame for these officer’s deaths on California’s dysfunctional court systems, mainly with the city of San Francisco. When you got a bleeding-heart liberal newspaper like the Hearst’s Chronicle, in a bleeding-heart city like San Francisco who is always beating around the bush, protecting criminals while trying to ignore the true causes as to why these criminals run amuck in our society.
They share the blame with the NRA. There is absolutely no viable use for assault rifles. They were made to kill - period. Here is a link to more on this http://insanfrancisco.today.com/2009/03/24/san-francisco-officers-on-assault-weapons-ban/
